God’s Flower
God put his flower of creation
down in a deep darkness,
and they say if you pick her you just might
fall in love at first breath.
So now, I’m asking you now what you think.
Tell me is it wise?
You said you’d kill me if I hurt her,
now I know those weren’t lies.
What a beautiful flower for picking
I’m overcome by her,
but I can see her broken pieces,
I’ll just cut them out.
I tell you that I never meant to
commit the sin of selfishness.
You said if I hurt her you’d kill me,
Now I never meant for this.
Her shoes themselves walked away from me
once in a picture of a dream.
Her face it brought the daylight,
but her smile it too walked away.
Now I can’t help but hear those words
Strong as the arms she’ll find.
You said if I hurt her you’d kill me,
but I only meant her good.
I think about the word never
and all the things that could mean,
I mean, I wished I’d never existed
or wish she’d never met me,
but never‘s a long time away though
and I haven’t been killed yet.
You said if I hurt her you’d kill me,
Now I hope that’s what I get.
You said if I hurt her you’d kill me,
Now I wish you did.
I wish you’d kill me dead.
